prioritizing development

We're a different kind of training company.  Our number one goal at Hoop House Athletics is player development.  Our focus is to help players develop and improve their skillset and accomplish their goals within the game of basketball.  Intensive and targeted work on fundamentals and skill development such as ball handling, footwork, shooting mechanics, endurance training, and team integration are all highlighted in our work with youth. Whether your player needs 1:1 training, group trainings targeting shooting or fundamental skill development, or you're seeking team participation wherein those skills may be put to the test, we're here to help your player develop, grow and succeed.

Our Story

Coach Charles has been training, mentoring and coaching Metro Detroit youth for over 20 years. Born and raised in Metro Detroit, he has loved and played the game of basketball for over 40 years.  His skills as a young athlete led him to receive an Honorable Mention for Mr Basketball his senior year of high school, which further led to many college opportunities.  He has a passion to see youth succeed both on and off the courts. "Basketball is a metaphor for life", he says, believing that the work done on the court can help youth excel in the day to day challenges, helping them grow in character and integrity. Today, as a father of two young athletes, his passion and love for the game is evident in the way he mentors, teaches and trains the next generation of players, assisting them in achieving their goals and furthering the love of this incredible game.  "My number one focus will always be on player development at every level of the game, whether a player is focused on making their high school team, improving their shooting percentage, or working toward that college scholarship.  That is why I formed Hoop House Athletics LLC".
